Meet C. Alan Hand

 

C. Alan Hand

My family has worked in the financial industry for nearly a century. My grandfather, John A. Hand, was President and Chief Executive Officer of Amsouth Bank, which was formally The First National Bank of Birmingham. Mr. Hand spent nearly 40 years at the bank as Chairman of The Executive Committee. In appreciation of his hard work and dedication to the banking industry in the southeast, the bank named the building after him and he was inducted into the Business Hall of Fame.

My father, John A. Hand Jr. was a Financial Advisor, Vice President, and a member of The Chairman's Club at Merrill Lynch for nearly 33 years. After a successful career in the financial industry, he has dedicated most of his life to several domestic and international missions. He currently serves on the board of GlobeWorks International which supports missionaries all over the world and also helping with local missions and church planting in Alabama, Pennslvania and Oxford England.

I am currently Managing Director of Hand Wealth Management. I have been in the financial Industry for 23 years. I work with non-profits,small business, families and individuals to help them achieve their financial goals. I chose to be an Independent Financial Advisor to better serve my clients and provide them with a great wealth management experience. I am series 7, series 66 and have my life and health insurance licenses.

I graduated from Samford University and started my career at Merrill Lynch in Birmingham as a Financial Consultant. I spent the next 10 years at Colonial Brokerage and Wells Fargo Advisors as a Vice President and Financial Advisor.

I am currently a member of The Civitan Club of Birmingham.Which provides financial support for the Civitan UAB research Center,The Sparks Center, also work closely with The Exceptional Foundation and Jimmy Hale Mission. I have served as a Board Member and as Chairman of the Board for The Civitan Club of Birmingham for many years. I also served on The Board of Trustees for The Creative Montessori School of Homewood and also serve as a Junior Board Member of Globeworks International.

I am married to Leslie Hand, attorney at Loyd,Grey, Whitehead, Monroe and we are parents to Madeline{25) and Elizabeth Hand {17). I enjoy spending time with my family and playing golf, fishing and working on non-profit projects.
